PDF Invisible Text Injection: Structural and FlateDecode Inspection
The multimodal input path can inspect supplied PDF bytes for hidden instruction indicators.
What 1-SEC checks
The multimodal input path can inspect supplied PDF bytes for hidden instruction indicators. The PDF helper checks supported text operators and rendering state, selected metadata, JavaScript markers, and FlateDecode streams. It can report instruction-like text with invisible rendering, tiny fonts, or white-text state. Compressed-stream fixtures exercise the implemented decompression and structural checks.
Required telemetry and context
Relevant input events: document_upload, file_attachment, image_input. Use a trusted producer at the real application boundary.
raw_data (Base64 of original PDF bytes)content_type (application/pdf)filenameraw_bytes (string fallback)
Field names above describe relevant context, not a complete API request. Consult the current event contract for envelope and detail requirements. Preserve booleans, numbers, and strings as the receiving handler expects them. Agent-provided text cannot independently verify identity or authorization.
Deployment, prevention, and response
Supply original bytes from a trusted upload/extraction integration; supplying only an ordinary text extract can discard the rendering state this check needs. Run the synthetic invisible-text, compressed-stream, and benign controls without executing PDF scripts. Correlate findings with the actual extraction path and affected document revision. Quarantine or gate model ingestion in the application if that outcome is required.
Record the source event, affected agent/host, actual target, policy decision, and response result. Review enforcement configuration separately from detection. A recommendation, selected action, dry-run record, and completed action are different outcomes.
Reproduce the source fixtures
From a checkout of the linked 1-SEC source revision, run the selected fixtures with the repository's Go toolchain. These commands run tests; they do not execute a real attack against your systems.
go test ./internal/modules/llmfirewall -run '^(TestScanPDFHiddenText_InvisibleRenderMode|TestScanPDFHiddenText_BenignContent|TestScanPDFHiddenText_FlateDecodeInvisibleText|TestHandleEvent_FileAttachment_FlateDecodePDF)$' -count=1Selected package fixtures passed locally. Helper fixtures establish only their explicit assertions; any accompanying handler fixture may check only error-free dispatch. Synthetic source tests do not establish production prevention, media coverage, or framework compatibility.

}Tuning, evaluation, and coverage limits
This is a bounded heuristic parser, not a full PDF renderer, OCR engine, antivirus, or guarantee that all visible and invisible text was extracted. Stream inspection considers at most one hundred streams and source streams below one MiB; decompression reads at most two MiB. Unsupported compression, encryption, images, malformed structures, or content beyond those windows can leave gaps. The handler fixture asserts no error, rather than a captured alert.
Evaluate this behavior with representative authorized activity and a controlled known-positive case. Investigate the exact rule, inputs, and state before suppressing an alert. Do not assume a hard-coded heuristic is a configurable setting. Measure your own deployment; the source fixtures do not establish a benchmark, detection rate, compliance certification, or incident-prevention claim.
